About the Position:

The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Programs (DIEP) supports the CSUF mission of preparing our diverse student body for academic and professional success. We develop and support practices, programming, and policies across the broad spectrum of inclusivity, equity and civility for the CSUF campus community. Through the provision of consultation and training, we strive to promote a campus community wherein students, staff and faculty are engaged in the values of inclusive excellence. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Administrator (Administrator II). Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the DHR Administrator is responsible for the University's compliance and investigations associated with the CSU/University discrimination, harassment, and retaliation compliance for faculty, staff, and students. Experience in investigations, a deep understanding of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation issues in higher education, and a proven track record in conflict resolution.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Conducts prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints. Ensures compliance with CSU non-discrimination policy and applicable laws and regulations. Advises and consult with administrators, faculty, staff, and students on discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters. Maintains accurate records of complaints and investigations through case management platform such as Maxient. Oversees conflict resolution program centered in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation prevention and compliance. Supervises Resolution Education Manager, who oversees proactive educational programming initiatives such as conflict resolution month, restorative practices, conflict prevention, campus outreach, etc. Collaborates with campus partners to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Higher Education or related field required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in investigations, preferably in higher education. Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Experience with conflict resolution, mediation, and/or negotiation. Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports and create effective presentations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications


Master's degree in related field or Juris Doctorate Degree. A minimum of three years of experience in DHR or related matters and/or grievance investigation and resolution.

Experience in a higher education setting preferred, public higher education highly preferred.
