Purpose of the Position:
The ASN Research Assistant will assist in the preparation of equipment and facilities needed for the operation of the grant-funded Ability Sport Network (ASN) adapted sports program.
Duties/Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist ASN Director in preparing adapted sports equipment, uniforms, and other materials needed for ASN practices and games. This may include basic maintenance of the equipment, which the Assistant will be trained on performing.
- Assist coaches in implementing sports drills during practice.
- Attend scheduled training sessions and games to provide support and assistance as required. May be asked to maintain rosters and report attendance.
- Assist with special events which may include disability sport trainings, family day promotional events, and sport team travel. The Assistant may be asked to attend out of town competitions or other events (in which case, travel costs will be covered by the university).
- Create and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude while effectively interacting with players, staff, and volunteers.
- Assist the ASN Director with administrative tasks as required, such as making travel arrangements or contacting stakeholders (players, parents, coaches, and volunteers).
Minimum Requirements:
- High school education or equivalent.
- 0-1 year of full-time verifiable work experience.
- Ability to work evenings or weekends as necessary for practices, games, or special events.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous work or other experience with physical function disabilities.
Published Salary (if available):
$13 - $15.00 (FTE=$27,040 - $31,200)
