The Adirondack North Country Sports Council is the organizing committee for the upcoming FISU World University Winter Games in beautiful Lake Placid during January 2023! We also organize various multi-sport events in the local area. It is an exciting time to join our TEAM!
Position Engagement Period: ASAP to 1/31/23
- Assist with delivery and management of the Accreditation functional area.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Implement Accreditation business process and learn functionality and operational requirements of the FISU online accreditation system (OAS) and access control application (new).
- Ensure accreditation registration fields are well-prepared for all required client groups (e.g. Delegations, Media, FISU Family, Technical Officials, Workforce), in conjunction with FISU; contact all groups to register potential accreditees.
- Act as tech support and customer service to troubleshoot issues entering data into the accreditation database.
- Oversee validation and 'cleaning' of all accreditation data.
- Set up space according to plans by Athlete’s Village and Accommodations Functional Areas and event consultants for Delegations' (Main Accreditation Center), Media, FISU Family and OC/Workforce accreditation centers.
- Work with Technology, Logistics and Workforce Management to secure necessary equipment and personnel to operate centers according to assigned space and layout.
- Connect with Venue Management and event consultants to understand venue zones.
- Build access privilege matrices according to plans made by FA client group owners (e.g. CMS for Media, PFR for FISU Family, SPT for ITO, Delegations), FISU, and event consultants.
- Assist with fit-out and operation of four accreditation centers.
- Produce and distribute accreditation cards (aka 'credentials') for ~8,000 Delegations, Media, FISU Family, ITO and Workforce members, as well as any supplementary control devices (e.g. Opening Ceremony sticker) required.
- Engage, train and manage Accreditation workforce.
- Other activities, as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
- More than 2 years in a tech support or customer service role.
- Experience working with databases.
- Solid familiarity with printers and credential supplies.
- Excellent administration, business process and organizational skills.
- Patient and understanding with those of all levels of computer literacy.
- High degree of integrity, diplomatic, fairness.
- Problem Solver and ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Willing and able to adapt to change quickly.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Work in one or more mid-level roles for one or more sporting events preferred.
- Working knowledge of overall event operations preferred.
Educational and/or Training requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time in an office setting.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs, climb stairs, walk on uneven terrain, work outside for extended periods of time in all kinds of weather in preparation for the Games and during the Games.
