Grain Read training - 2nd Shift
JOB SUMMARY :
Training to learn to ensure castings meet the customer requirements for grain inspection and have a basic working knowledge of the grain etch/chemical clean process. This position will be on 2nd shift: (2:00PM-10:30PM): but will train on 1st shift: (6:00AM-2:30PM):. This position works Monday - Friday: with overtime as needed.

JOB SUMMARY :

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES :
- Learn to visual Inspection of castings in the grain etch condition
- Learn to map Grain Defects
- Lift and carry baskets.
- Enter data into computer.
- Learn to read and follow all applicable grain read PEIs and customer specifications.
- Take light meter reading.
- Chemical Clean (occasionally)
- Learn to grain Etch (to gain an understanding of the grain etch process)
- Lift and carry baskets above and around acid tanks
- Rinse off castings using pressure washer.
- Obtain the required amount of hours to become a Grain Read/Etch Level II
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience: At least 3 months experience preferred
- Must have good Attendance
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of metric system. Ability to read.
- Ability to process new information. Basic computer skills. Reasoning ability. Good verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Detail oriented. Accurate. Mechanically inclined. Safety conscious. Team oriented.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Working Environment: Factory floor area working with acid and fumes
- Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Hearing Protection: In hearing conservation areas.
- Chemical resistant steel toe shoes.
