Job Description
The Associate Director in Career Services will serve as the second in charge of the office after to the Director of Career Services. Core responsibilities include but are not limited to. Oversight of all career and job search technologies, while partnering with the Student Experience. Technical Services team to provide front-end support on present and future university career platforms for career staff across campus. Management of two Career Exploration Specialists.

Planning and success outcomes as it relates to career readiness programming and workshops. Run early assessment of all career programming to identify areas of improvement both internally to the Central Career office, as well for our campus partners while providing recommendations for improvement. Assistance with the data collection for the University-wide undergraduate First-Destination Survey Lead the Career Services Network internal working group that consists of career staff from the various schools/college career offices. Oversee exploration, vetting and potential implementation for future career platforms.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required (Masters Preferred).
  • Previous experience within Career Services, both from technical and career theory standpoint, with strong knowledge and understanding of how career technology platforms advance career development goals.
  • Demonstrated classroom presentation and workshop experience.
  • Proven experience in creating standard operating practices.

  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight and often conflicting.

Responsibilities
  • Management of career and job search technologies, trainings, and vetting of future systems. In conjunction with Technical Services, design, develop, and deliver coaching and training to the multiple Career teams, student, and employer partner populations to increase system knowledge and improve individual performance with each career platform.
  • Staff management (2 Career Exploration Specialists) and oversight of career readiness programming and workshops.
  • Serve in place of the Director of Career Services when absent and assist in the day-to-day management of the Central Career Services Office while assessing of all career programming, process improvements, and First-Destination Survey collection for our undergraduate student population.
  • Track and generate reports based on user management within all career platforms.
  • Assess and analyze usage of career-oriented systems to make recommendations for improved business processes, and/or additional training opportunities.
  • Partner with career vendors to stay up to date on new system improvements and best practices being utilized by peer institutions.
  • Formalize standard operating practices for how best to implement career platforms into career conversations and facilitate scenario-based training sessions (1:1, small group, workshops, recorded content, etc.) to students, staff and employers.
  • Provide timely response to front-user inquiries and request for support of training opportunities.
  • Regular maintenance and updates of trainer paths and support documentation (1-Pagers, Answers Page, How-T o’s, Career Decks. etc.) for an expanding library of content.
  • Conducting train-the-trainer sessions and remain current on educational career products and methodologies.
  • Assist ITS with system and process testing, as needed.
