Entry Level Associate Accountant

Position: Remote Entry Level Associate Accountant
Payrate: $20-$30/hour based on previous experience
Hours: 15-25 hours per week between January 15th – April 17th, Start date of December 19th

Summary:
Growing CPA firm is looking to bring on an entry level associate for the upcoming tax preparation season. The firm was started by Metro State University alumni Adam Laarsen, CPA in July of 2020 and has rapidly expanded. A large percentage of the firm’s clientele are more than just a W-2 and have some complexity to them. The firm specializes in real estate and construction accounting/taxation but has clients all over the industrial spectrum.

Description:
The applicant should have a working knowledge of basic accounting functions, either having recently completed their accounting degree (graduation in fall of 2022) or within a year of graduation. Candidate will have already completed undergraduate Income Tax courses.

Work will be done remotely using a computer provided by Laarsen & Associates, LLC. at a place with a secure internet connection. Work will be done primarily using Thomson Reuters’ Onvio, UltraTax, and
Fixed Asset CS software as well as QuickBooks Online. Work hours are flexible through the week and working on the weekend may be required.

Once hired, that person will be trained in basic bookkeeping for small businesses with a focus on correct procedure and accuracy. These tasks will include, but are not limited to, bank reconciliations, fixed assets schedules, equity accounts and adjusting journal entries. The associate’s main task will be helping in the preparation of taxes returns. The associate will be trained in the various software packages.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
