Western Colorado Pediatrics Bilingual Front Office


The starting pay for this position is $15.75 an hour. To qualify for Bilingual status you will need to pass a translation assessment.
PCP pays for 100% of the employees’ health insurance which is a monthly $684 benefit. This benefit equals to an additional $4.27 an hour.


Job Summary:

This position is responsible for greeting patients on the phone and through electronic correspondence. They will meet patient needs regarding scheduling and updating patient information all while providing the best customer service possible. This position will require travel between Grand Junction and Fruita locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments via phone or electronic correspondence. Schedule follow up appointments. Cancel and reschedule appointments. Manage electronic worklists. Manage templates for day to day edits and reschedules. Promote and assist patients in pre-visit / online scheduling use.
  • Answer majority of incoming phone calls and make outbound phone calls, gathering information to route appropriately.
  • Counsel new and existing patients on Patient Overview, Financial responsibility and payment expected at time of service.
  • Create and maintain Patient records. Verify and update patient demographics and insurance as needed.
  • Prepares form letter and/or calls patients to advise of appointment change.
  • Prepare paperwork to mail to new patients and for physicals.
  • Add new patient accounts.
  • Work Team and individual Task bins and Portal messages.
  • Clean up lists of patients seen infrequently.
  • Fax documents and forms appropriately.
  • Support Dismiss/ Admit positions as needed.

Dismiss

  • Collect co-pays, payments or past due amounts.
  • Confirm copays and amounts due on Phreesia.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Print or send to the portal the patients Clinical Summary.
  • Responsible for assigned change drawer.
  • Complete additional paperwork post patient visit (HIPPA forms, Records Release, DOT copying, etc.

Admit

  • Print encounter sheet and send to the correct wing
  • Add exam forms as appropriate
  • Gather and enter in PM correct ID and insurance information
  • Educate patients and assist when necessary with the use of PRE CHECK IN
  • Manage the pickup area for paperwork and samples
  • Facilitate getting newborns and immune compromised patients to the back
  • Help problem solve patient issues at the Admit desk
  • Enter no shows, cancellations, and reschedule

Work Experience:

One - three years experience in office setting; familiarity with general office procedures.

High School Diploma

The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized and detail oriented. They will provide excellent customer service, have good phone skills and a pleasant phone voice. Must have strong computer skills, be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment all while being able to perform well under pressure. We are looking for someone that can remain calm and effectively handle difficult situations. This position requires you to work independently, apply good judgement and be able to recognize, interpret and evaluate situations and their level of urgency.

Working Conditions:

This position works primarily seated at a desk in a well-lighted, ventilated area. Significant phone work, some walking around office with some light lifting. Travel required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week. Works primarily Monday through Friday rotations of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour lunch. Expected hours of work may change at any time with or without notice.
