Job description
The cashier / sales associate is responsible for generating sales of destination, enhancement, and lifestyle products by providing superior customer service and customer education; participating in all activities related to the ongoing operation and maintenance of a retail environment.
Duties / Essential Functions:
- Complete sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities
- Generate sales of all product categories
- Maintain updated product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries
- Stock and replenish merchandise
- Coordinate product exchange and transfers
- Stamp, mark or tag price on merchandise
- Arrange displays to promote sales
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining the orderly appearance of the store
- Fill tanks and conduct inspections following company sponsored VIP training
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices
- Other tasks as assigned by the General Manager or designee
- Previous Customer Service experience; six (6) months sales or related experience preferred
- Certified scuba diver preferred, but not required.
- A combination of education, certifications, and work experience may be qualifying
- Overall understanding of personal computer operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be willing and able to work in a collaborative setting with a diverse group of internal and external customers and vendors
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by retail needs
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires employee to work on his/her feet 100% of the time
- Ability to bend and squat
- Ability to life/carry 40+ pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to access all areas of the store
- Ability to read, write, count, and do basic arithmetic
