You: Yes You! We are looking for a skilled, organized and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. Your position will perform a combination of clinical duties including:
- Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination, screens, collects vital signs and enters them into the EMR, instructs patients in collection of samples and/or tests.
- Performs designated clinical duties as delegated by clinical nurse manager, physician and/or physician extender (including injections, instillations, catheter changes, etc.).
- Prepares equipment, assists physician during examination, maintains timely flow of patients, responds to and refers incoming phone calls.
- Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions per orders of the registered nurse and/or physician.
- Responsible for pre-op teaching, reviewing pre-op labs, ECG and ensuring cardiac clearance. Provides post-op management in coordination with MD over-site.
- Responsible for conducting all lab result call backs to patients as directed by the physician and physician extenders; appropriately document in patient chart.
- Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Suite team conducts stocking and ordering of medical supplies
Your experience: Our mission is excellence in Urology, that is why we require:
- 2 year's of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
- Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
- Skill in developing and maintaining practice quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
Your education/certification:
- HS diploma/GED required
- Certificate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants or RMA.
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program and BLS required.
