Chemical Processor 3- 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARY:
To chemically clean, apply film protection, assist in the processing or painting, ensure surfaces are
treated and prepared against corrosion before final paint application and to load and unload parts on paint
equipment. May work under guidance of higher grade Chemical Processor.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Move parts, equipment and materials in and around paint and processing areas.
II. Loads and unloads parts equipment and materials per the shop router onto racks, holding racks,
conveyors, carloaders and industrial trucks. This can also pertain to size, shape, and number of
parts to obtain maximum cleaning.
III. Verifies parts are properly identified and tagged upon entry and exit from area as well as verify
part and quality match that of the router.
IV. “Wiresup”, cleans, and masks parts and material for processing and painting operations.
V. Operates power hoist and uses material handling equipment, such as hand operated forklifts.
VI. Periodically fills the degrease tank with solution.
VII. Visually checks for drying and complete cleaning of parts.
VIII. Verifies the mill thickness on parts using the SPC Data Collection device.
IX. Assists painters as directed.
X. May rough or sand parts in preparation for paint.
XI. Operates tank equipment to apply chemical film protective coatings to a variety of aircraft parts in
accordance with detailed instructions where operator is required to use some judgment to assure
complete and uniform application.
XII. May need to add water to various tanks to maintain operating levels. Manually maintains
specified tank temperatures, load containers to maximum efficiency from process and time
immersion per specifications to obtain desired results.
XIII. Hand cleans and applies corrosion preventative per reference specifications to bare area on
bonded assemblies or rework applications.
XIV. Wears proper safety clothing when required for specific functions of the job.
XV. Works in accordance with safety rules and general safety practices.
XVI. Responsible for quality of own work.
XVII. Performs other related duties.
EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Ability to read blue print preferred, but not required. Must be able to read and follow both written and verbal instructions. Requires the use of simple arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of decimals
and fractions, together with simple drawings and specifications. Requires some measuring instruments such as calipers and scale.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires minimum 3 months of related experience.
