Job description

The Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic is a small, faith-based non-profit organization founded in 1994 that believes everyone should have access to justice. We provide free legal services to low-income neighbors in four key areas: re-entry justice, immigration, housing, and tax law. By breaking down barriers to justice, in 2022 we were able to help:

  • 2,700 visitors through our Re-Entry Justice Program, many of which were able to leave their past behind through Indiana’s Second Chance Law;
  • 500 individuals and families facing eviction or poor living conditions;
  • Low-income clients with IRS tax disputes, reaching resolutions that saved a total of over $740,000; and
  • Dozens of immigrant survivors of domestic abuse and violent crime obtain green cards, as well as winning asylum trials and visa approvals to help families reunite after years of separation.

We are a United Way organization and deeply rooted within the community. Our partnerships include the City of Indianapolis, Raphael Health Center, the Indiana Bar Foundation, Shepherd Community Center, and Helping Veterans and Families of Indiana, Inc.

Diversity statement: We believe each person is unique and recognize that no two of us have the same set of life experiences. By embracing the diversity of culture, background, life experiences, thought, and perspective, we are better equipped to serve those around us. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are connected to our mission of justice for all and are critical to ensuring the well-being of our staff and the communities we serve.
