The Finance team is predominantly based in London with regional staff located in Spain, USA and Mainland China.

This is an exciting opportunity to join GSMA, an industry organisation representing the interests of the largest mobile network operators globally, whilst also hosting some of the largest mobile communications events such as Mobile World Congress Barcelona.
This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to work for a leading brand representing some of the largest mobile operators globally alongside a dedicated team, with a global client base encompassing a broad range of products and services. The seasonal nature of our business also means an interesting and varied role throughout the year.

About the Role
This role will be based in the Atlanta office and will report into the Credit Control Manager based in London, UK and you will be focused on client collections for GSMA events and services.
Your daily responsibilities include chasing debt from customers based in the Americas and Spain. You will provide risk assessments on the collectability of debt and monitor cash collections, advising the Credit Control Manager on potential bad debt and what needs to be provisioned.
You will deal with the collection of multi-currency invoices with varying payment terms from a wide selection of debtors, ranging from large multinational and blue chip organisations through to small start-up clients. In doing this, you will also work closely alongside the Accounts Receivable team in London, UK to investigate and respond to client queries.
About You
The role requires a dedicated and motivated individual who is able to work both independently and as part of a team. They must be proactive, forward thinking, analytical, with a willingness to continually develop and improve process performance.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
  • Fluent Spanish as an additional language is a necessity
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage expectations
  • Good understanding and experience of the Credit Control function and general financial rules
  • Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups etc.), Word (mail-merge)
  • Highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail
  • Tenacious and deadline-driven
  • Strong levels of customer service and solutions-oriented
  • Good communication skills at all levels including key stakeholders
  • Very strong written English and professional manner
  • Excellent team-player, used to working towards shared objectives
  • Able to work autonomously and with the ability to recognize when to request assistance
