The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations (AAO) is seeking a Design Engineer Team Lead to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The Design Engineer Team Lead will be a resource for AAO in reference to the designs and specifications, manufacturing methods and how they are related to the design and function, customer uses and concerns related to 38999 products. Position will include mentorship in engineering management functions and leadership.

The key responsibilities of the Design Engineer Team Lead include, but are not limited to:

• Be the key focal point for engineering for 38999 products – one of the largest product lines in AAO
• Create relationships with customers internal and external related to 38999 business
• Track and expedite new order releases which may include checking, review, and approval of drawing and bill of material packages
• Assist vendors and customers (internal and external) with emails and phone calls related to product performance and quality or manufacturing issues
• Manage a team of 38999 focused individuals with the goal of performance that will continue to expand existing 3899 business
• Assist in interface with information with various specification compliance agencies
• Keep management abreast of current progress and any pending issues that may need immediate attention as well as current project/release status

• Note: A hybrid work option may be available following a training period.

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Design Engineer Team Lead at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline plus relative experience
• Working knowledge of engineering design and test with familiarity with electrical connectors
• Travel as required
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for pro-longed periods of time
• Computer usage from 1 to 8 hours/day
