Job description
The Municipal Archives seeks a full-time Digital Archivist. Under general supervision, with some latitude for the exercise of independent judgment or action, the archivist will perform professional work and/or responsible supervisory work at the Municipal Archives. The Digital Archivist will be responsible for implementing digital preservation projects aimed at making collections accessible to the public.
The Digital Archivist will be responsible for using various tools to ensure long-term preservation of born digital and digitized collections. Working across multiple units of the Municipal Archives, the Digital Archivist will aid in the management of digital collections from accessions; processing and digitization; to public access using digital forensics tools. Responsibilities will include implementing workflows, quality control and technical oversight of digital assets within and outside of digital preservation systems ensuring security protocols. The Digital Archivist will work with various preservation and content management tools and within multiple local and cloud environments, and have experience with various computer systems, hardware interfaces and storage media.
This position will include moving and lifting heavy over-size cartons and books within and between the Archives headquarters and off-site facilities.

Minimum Qual Requirements
1. A master's degree from an accredited college in Library Science, Archival Science, American History, Political Science or a related area, plus two years of full-time experience in archival or library science, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity of incumbents performing at a professional level; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have a master's degree from an accredited college and the one year of supervisory experience as described in "1" above.

Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated experience working with archival management systems (ArchivesSpace)
- Working with BitCurator and other digital forensics tools
- Knowledge of ePADD and other email tools
- Fluency in metadata standards
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud products.
- Digital Archives Specialist certification

Hours/Shift
