Position Mission
Donor Communications furthers the mission of The Fellowship of Catholic University Students by serving and communicating with the FOCUS community – donors, staff, and students – regarding donations. We provide quality and timely service, craft unique designs, and manage communications for the FOCUS Community with a joyful spirit and a servant’s heart. The Donor Communications Manager oversees the daily operations for the Donor Communications team and leads the team of Donor Communications Specialists and Sr. Specialists. A Donor Communications Manager executes the vision of service set by the Sr. Manager of Donor Communications and supports the Sr. Manager of Donor Communications with special projects as needed. A Donor Communications Manager is also capable of stepping in and managing the Donor Communications team in the absence of the Sr. Manager of Donor Communications. A Donor Communications Manager shoulders more responsibility in regard to navigating complex issues and interdepartmental projects, supervising 3-4 direct reports, and assisting in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and build long-term development of a team of 3-4 direct reports who exceed in team goals
- Oversee the execution of daily operations of the Donor Communications team
- Assist in the management of complex issues and specialized projects interdepartmentally and within Mission Development
- Support the Sr. Manager of Donor Communications in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees and interns to the team
- Learn all duties of Specialists and Sr. Specialists and fulfill these duties as needed, including:
- Resolve support-related inquiries for donors, missionaries and staff with timeliness and accuracy.
- Professional and cheerful communication via voicemails, emails, mail, and calls.
- Act as the primary contact for missionaries and staff with donation-related questions.
- Assist with entering, updating, and verifying donor database information. Once trained, must be able to perform duties with greater than 99% accuracy rate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of management experience preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, databases and direct mail
- Professional and friendly customer service skills
- Excellent, customer-focused written and verbal communication
- Ability to navigate various forms of technology
- Ability to follow instructions with an attention to detail and work independently
