General Summary:
The Driver is responsible for the timely and safe transporting of residents to various individual and group activities/functions and medical appointments.
Essential Job Duties:
- Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities and appointments where transportation is needed.
- Completes a safety check of the applicable vehicle, (i.e., car or bus) before transporting residents to and from scheduled activities and appointments.
- Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.
Other Duties:
- Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.
- Transports vehicle(s) to service locations for routine preventive maintenance on vehicle(s) as scheduled by supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor of necessary repairs and vehicle malfunctions.
- Immediately notifies supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents.
- Makes miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary.
- Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school education required. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Must possess a valid CA Driver License. Must have a good driving record.
- Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude with the residents at all times.
- Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.
