Job Summary:

Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Philadelphia to join the Environmental Services Department as our Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Environmental Scientist. This entry-level position will be supporting various environmental projects and consist of approximately 70% office work and 30% field work.

Responsibilities

• Office responsibilities include:
• Analysis and interpretation of field results and writing environmental reports.
• Prepare environmental permit applications.
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients and contractors under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Field responsibilities include:
• Oversight of groundwater monitoring, well installations and soil borings, building material surveys, collection of soil, groundwater, vapor, surface water, and asbestos samples.
• This position involves carrying equipment and laboratory sampling coolers and occasionally installing soil borings with hand augers.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related field.
• 0-5 years of environmental experience.
• For Engineers, an EIT is preferred; for Geologists, a GIT is preferred.
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification is preferred.
• Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• AutoCAD experience is preferred.
• Limited travel is required but may occasionally include evening or weekend work.
• A valid driver s license is required.
