Job Overview

Lafferty Construction is an established drilling & blasting company located in Wendell, Idaho. We are seeking a full-time heavy equipment operator. Experience is required, and additional training will be provided. Candidate must be willing to travel and work overtime as required. We offer competitive wages with benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Minimum 3 years heavy equipment operations
• Experience operating 200-300 class excavators with rock hammer
• Operate company vehicles to transport products to and from specified job sites. Will include driving on commercial roads, private roads, and customer property.
• Responsible for loading/unloading product for delivery, which results in frequent lifting of 40-50 pound product bags or boxes.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence
• Assist with site preparation and equipment set up.
• Operate equipment on various job sites in all weather conditions.
• Be able to work in an independent environment with limited supervision.
• Performs labor support at job sites and location under company direction.
• Maintains safe working conditions.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be willing to travel and stay out of town for work.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Mechanical ability and interest.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Able to pass criminal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Current Drivers License
• Blast hole drill & rock trenching experience desirable but not necessary. Will train the right candidate.
• Demonstrate ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance records are required.
• Demonstrate ability to perform the essential functions of this job is required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
