Job description
Successful mid-sized electrical contractor in Silicon Valley is seeking a highly-motivated, proactive Estimating Assistant to assist with preparing estimates, maintaining and tracking information on estimates and general administrative support for all new and existing projects. The company has been in business for over 30 years and is poised for substantial growth with an excellent client base.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Heavy use of Excel - creating/updating material lists/count sheets for quote requests to vendors
- Maintain organized filing system for estimate hard copies
- Correspond with vendors (requests, due dates, inquiries, etc.)
- Use Bluebeam to modify/create PDFs as necessary for bids & requests
- Update/maintain Estimating Bid Calendar in Microsoft Outlook, including managing invites for job walks, if necessary
- Help enter pricing into Accubid as it comes in from vendors
- Must have the ability to read and interpret plans
- Experience in electronic takeoff of plans
- Maintain estimating folder for projects
- Maintain the bid log
- Complete Contractor Prequalification forms
- Other duties assigned as necessary
Required education/skills:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe/Bluebeam proficiency a must
- Accubid/ChangeOrder, Vista by Viewpoint ERP experience a plus
- Self-starter, able to multi-task
- Willing to learn and take on responsibility quickly
- Mathematical ability required
- Construction Management Degree preferred
- Strong people skills
- Attention to detail
- Previous electrical construction preferred
- Proven experience in a related position
- Excellent time management, ability to multi-task, and prioritize tasks
- Good time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment to meet strict and changing deadlines
