This role is in our Macedon, NY facility.

WHAT WE NEED

The Facilities Intern will be assigned projects which align with their educational track and have a direct result and correlation to the best-practices in facilities maintenance processes at BRF. The student will work directly with our Facilities Maintenance Manager, and a variety of other individuals within facilities, maintenance, and engineering functions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • For this project, the student will be responsible for working with various groups across the organization to update drawings for our multiple facilities in support of our Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
  • This will require a high level of attention to detail, excellent project management skills, and ability to independently problem solve through communication with engineering, maintenance, and technical managers.
  • The student will be exposed to a wide variety technical SMEs, capital projects, and learn about high-speed manufacturing operations.

Required Education/Experience:


  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology program.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Moderate level of experience utilizing a Computer Aided Design (CAD) program such as AutoCAD, CAD Lite, or SolidWorks
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Structural design background.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and follow-through skill sets.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced math and statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as flow rates and release calculations.
  • Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), heat, and moderate level of noise. Ear protection is provided, but not required.
