The Role
- Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas.
- Willing to perform routine tasks on a continuous basis as assigned by the Facilities Department.
Responsibilities
General
- Perform housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, vacuuming and trash removal.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, dining areas, pantries, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas so that professional standards are met.
- Clean rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaners and/or spot cleaning products.
- Clean, sweep, polish floors in appropriate rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Clean windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary.
- Dust and clean all glass surfaces.
- Dust and clean windows and/or window treatments.
- Dust, clean and/or polish furniture and equipment.
- Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and frames.
- Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens and bathroom items.
- Report Lights out and general maintenance repairs to us.
Bathrooms
- Maintain toilets, stalls, sinks and floors clean.
- Check restrooms hourly and fill out restroom log.
- Report plumbing, restocking, or any general bathroom issues/repairs needed.
Conference Rooms
- Understand and assist with decorations, media equipment, and furniture, if needed, for social or business functions.
- Clean up dishes and table, vacuum floor, and restore proper furniture arrangement after meetings.
Equipment
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Disinfect equipment and supplies as needed.
- Use wheeled carts for transporting food and supplies.
- Keep work areas stocked with enough supplies, materials and equipment for proper performance of duties
- Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
Pantries
- Maintain clean surfaces in pantries, including counter tops, refrigerator and cupboard doors and floors.
- Maintain clean microwave ovens.
- Keep coffee pots replenished.
- Wash dishes, cooking utensils, and silverware.
- Restock snack items as needed.
- Daily and weekly “deep cleaning” of refrigerators and pantries.
Trash
- Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
Professionalism
- Adhere to established Facility policies and procedures, including safe working practices.
- Maintain consistent and professional attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
- Assist and cooperate with Housekeeping co-workers regarding duties, work methods and routines.
- Communicate effectively with other departments (Conference Room Scheduling, Set-ups and Facilities).
- Report need for repair of equipment, furniture, building and fixtures. Observe precautions to protect such property.
- Report lost and found articles to supervisors.
- Recommend the purchase of effective housekeeping-related supplies.
- Answer cell phones when called.
- Wear provided uniform.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of janitorial experience preferred
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work with the team
- Will take initiative
