Material Handler

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a prominent client in McCalla, AL within the automotive industry.

Material Handler Job Summary:

· $15.00 per hour, Temp to Hire

· 2nd Shift, 9:30a - 6:15p

· The Material Handler is responsible for assembling a variety of automotive parts including front and rear chassis. Assembly is performed based on part specific work instructions and quality control plans. Assemblers are held to high standards of production quality and safety.

· Assemble products using process-specific work instructions and quality control plans in accordance with IATF-16949 standards

· Assemble products according to work order requests and production specifications

· Visually inspect the quality of in-coming production line materials, eliminate defects

· Meet daily production goals through teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives

· Perform all assembly-related tasks and assignments in a safe and timely manner

· Ensure equipment and work stations are cleaned daily

· Support and communicate with Team Leaders on a daily basis

· Maintain housekeeping to 5S standards

· Participate in team and safety meetings and promote safety within the workplace

· Support company values and goals to establish a world class organization

· Cross train in other jobs as needed to fulfill production demands

· Comply with all safety rules and guidance, as well as report all recognized hazards

· Maintain good attendance in compliance with the Attendance & Punctuality Policy

· All other duties as assigned

· Production/assembly environment

· Traversing around production floor

· Standing for long periods of time

· Repetitive motions

· Lifting up to 30 lbs.

· Overtime and weekend work as needed

Material Handler Qualifications:

· HS Diploma or GED Required

· Good verbal and written communication skills

· Attention to detail and ability to detect quality defects

· Ability to learn new tasks quickly and follow detailed work instructions

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

· One year of experience in a manufacturing environment
