JOB OVERVIEW:
It is the responsibility of the Graphic Artist to work under the guidance of the Media Supervisor to create, improve and update a variety of materials, including flyers, brochures, magazine ads, event collateral, web graphics, packaging, etc. while adhering to corporate branding guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- With Media Supervisor, ensure that all print and electronic media conform to established corporate guidelines and standards.
- Utilize disciplined process to ensure that all materials created are reviewed and approved by appropriate personnel for accuracy and content.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously under sometimes tight deadlines.

Create layouts for various literature pieces and packaging.

Take photographs of products, company events, and other items as necessary.

Maintain filing and documentation of project process and approval; backup and archive all art files as necessary.

Consult with Product Managers to evaluate individual project needs; present samples to Marketing Manager and/or Product Managers for selection and approval.

Prepare final layout for printer; responsible for coordinating and thoroughly reviewing press proofs for printed pieces.

Ensure PDFs of literature are added to the server and Showpad.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
None with B.F.A. (four years related experience without B.F.A.)
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from a four-year college required or equivalent work experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe PhotoShop on both a Mac and PC platform
- Command knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Quark Xpress and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable with digital photography and photo retouching / color correction
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Travel typically less than 10%. No special physical demands required.
- Job demands may require long periods of sitting, standing, telephone work, computer work.
- Job demands may require occasional heavy lifting, up to 25 pounds.
