Job Description

We are looking for a Housekeeper to join our team and help maintain the cleanliness, protect the appearance of our building, and carry out various cleaning projects here at Edgewater Beach Apartments. A historically significant 300-unit Co-Op; nestled on the North Side of Chicago, adjacent to the lake. Housekeepers will report directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor. The ideal candidate should be a team player with a positive attitude focused on building upkeep. They should be able to cover a large space and have a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining a clean facility by completing various cleaning tasks. Their duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant, and moving and emptying trashcans or recycling bins. Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, mirrors, and windows.

Other tasks may include cleaning the pool deck by squeegeeing it to remove standing water, organizing pool furniture, emptying trash bins from the pool, and scrubbing pool surfaces to remove any built-up dirt. Clean and sanitize guestrooms, make beds and change linens, replenish toiletries and towels in guest rooms, and wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and mirrors.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Good communication skills

· Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them

· Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces

· Ability to lift and move at least 90 pounds

· Some knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners

· Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment which may require working holidays, weekends, and nights (based on needs at site location)

· Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
