1. Maintenance Tech Description

A. AnIndustrial Maintenance Tech ensures the optimal functioning of all equipment and machines at our facility. The Tech’s responsibilities include but not limited in identifying faulty equipment, making relevant adjustments to machinery, carrying out maintenance tasks in a conservative manner, communicating problems to staff, and maintain technical knowledge through refresher workshops.

B. To be a successful as an Industrial Tech, the individual should have a passion for understanding how things work, not only in their department but involved in all aspects of the company process and shows the initiative to help others to locate and resolve minor faults quickly. An outstanding IMT should stay informed and develops their selves on all developments in their field.

2. IMT Responsibilities:

· Maintaining and installing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

· Locating problems through close observation of machinery and staff practices.

· Performing careful inventory and stock checks and placing orders for required material and equipment

· Collecting and analyzing data for written reports.

· Controlling downtime by communicating with staff and implementing contingency measures.

· Ensuring all procedures and processes adhere to company health and safety regulations.

· Planning and prioritizing for PM’s and work order Repairs

· Communicating and reporting all temporary repairs

· Verify operation of equipment before startup and continuous monitoring during production.

· Assisting with training of all new hires

3. IMT Requirements:

· High School diploma

· Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

· Industrial education: Electrical, Control Circuit components (Switches, sensors, solenoids), Blueprint and Electrical Diagram, Pneumatic systems, Mechanical, PLC and Variable Motor Control Drive programming.

· Fabrication skills: Welding (Mig, Tig & Stick), Cutting, Grinding, Pipe fitting.

· 2-5 years’ experience in food manufacturing machinery and equipment.

· Experience with the following: Vertical form-fill-seal machines, Thermoform machines, Metal Detectors, Check-weighers, Mixers, Steam injection, Pasteurizers, Cryogenic tunnels, Conveyors.

· Knowledge in maintaining and monitoring: Boilers, Air Compressors, Silo systems, HVAC systems, Vacuum Systems

· Critical and logical thinking ability.

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge and practice of Shop safety, GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP, SQF Standards and OSHA Standards.

· Must have own tools and tool pouch

· Must have basic knowledge in refrigeration, buildings and ground.
