DescriptionWe are seeking an IT Project Management Lead Analyst – Scrum Master focused on supporting a multi-year transformational program focused on designing and building new products and services. Our focus is on our care delivery capabilities, strengthened relationships with high-performing physicians, and forged new partnerships to accelerate our growth and impact. The new value-based care models will harness the power of Evernorth’s health services combined with VillageMD and other providers in a multi-payer environment of networks of primary care physicians and specialists—at a scale that does not exist today.
The Scrum Master (SM) provides hands on support to the Evernorth Accountable Care Program by interfacing with product managers, product owners, business SMEs and technical teams within an agile framework to support, develop and deploy business solutions . The Scrum Master is a dedicated team member whose primary responsibility is to foster team unity and help the Scrum t eam achieve its goals and committed objectives . Scrum master's do so by championing Scrum methodology , focusing on continuous improvement, and ensuring effective delivery practices are in place.
The Scrum Master is the Scrum Team's working servant leader who:
Helps assure that the team follows the rules of Scrum
Helps them meet their daily and iteration objectives
Works to remove impediments, facilitates continuous improvement
Coordinates solution implementation and delivery with other Scrum Masters
Responsibilities: Delivery Focused:
Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
Facilitates the team’s progress toward sprint and PI (Program Increment) goals: Scrum masters are team facilitators and are constantly engaged in challenging the old norms while keeping the team focused on the goals of the iteration.
Partners with the Product Owner to ensure team workload is appropriate and focused on the right goals and priorities.
Facilitates all team-level Agile ceremonies
Removes impediments and/or guides the team on how to remove them
Helps team stay on track for committed work; holds team members accountable
Monitors delivery progress and performance. Communicates delivery status, updates, risks and issues to Product Stream leadership and management, as necessary. Helps teams to make improvements.
Responsible for metrics tracking and feedback loops to team, product stream leadership and management
Has a thorough understanding of, and coaches the team on, sprint planning, sprint capacity , velocity, story sizing, story risk analysis, and story management.
Supports the Solution/Release Train Engineer in PI Planning, including leading team break-out sessions
Ensures that team members maintain Jira and other repositories
Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items
Planning and organizing d emos and product/system testing
Actively manages all work associated to the PI an associated releases for their scrum team
Supports the Operational Readiness process and helps identify impacts
Servant Leader & Coach:
Champions effective and open communications across the team and product stream
Facilitates team building , including fostering an environment of mutual trust, creativity, and empowerment
Guides the team and product stream on Agile/Scrum best practices
Leads the team’s efforts in continuous improvement
Assesses and coaches the team to higher levels of Agile maturity, at a sustainable and comfortable pace for the team and organization
Coaches the team to create and maintain team agreements, definitions of done and other Agile framework
Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices.
Required Experience / Qualifications:
Must be a current contractor with Cigna Healthcare, Evernorth Health Services, or one of their subsidiaries.
Direct experience or strong understanding of using agile software (Jira) to design and execute work in sprint cycles while leveraging typical agile ceremonies within agile/waterfall software development lifecycles.
Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and articulate business needs for technical teams and technical solutions to the business.
Agile and/or Scrum Master Certification .
Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred .
Minimum of 6 months of experience as a scrum master or in a project delivery role
Working knowledge of agile methodology , techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions.
Leadership and management experience.
Excellent people and project management skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 79,100 - 131,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
