Job description
We are looking for a Lab Technician to join our growing team in Westerville, OH. This will be a full time, full benefits, 40 hours a week position. The hours will be Monday-Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm. Expected to participate in weekend and holiday rotations and extended hours as needed.
The Lab Technician will perform semen analysis, semen cryopreservations, and IUI and IVF sperm preparations. You will perform comprehensive semen analysis and viability assays. Further, you will prepare reports for physicians, media for various assays, freeze semen and prepare frozen/thawed seme. The position will also include Administrative tasks such as data collection, data entry, ordering proper supplies, entering/updating patient records
Responsibilities:
Perform all andrology services, including preparation of semen samples for artificial inseminations, cryopreservation and thawing of sperm, and sperm analysis in accordance with CLIA standards.
Provide patient instructions for specimen collection.
Perform comprehensive semen analysis, including sperm count, motility, progression, morphology, and viability (if indicated). Report results.
Perform laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and participates in quality improvement (QI) programs, record keeping and collection of data.
Support and actively participate in initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
Follow all laboratory SOPs and OSHA guidelines including universal precautions for blood borne pathogens.
Comply with HIPAA privacy regulations.
Complete competency in latest technologies including, but not limited to: Semen analysis, anti-sperm antibody testing, sperm cryopreservation, vitality staining, semen processing.
Assist embryologists with preparatory work, patient/specimen ID witnessing, and record-keeping.
Assist lab director/supervisor with lab supplies inventory and equipment maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned, and in keeping with Pinnacle Fertility and RGI policies, procedures, and standards.
