Lab Technician
Work schedule: Standard- Occasional OT/WE work may be required

Job Summary

Working under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Lab Tech will maintain the lab and complete periodic testing requirements as required by customer and industry specifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform testing of process tanks and complete periodic tests on a set daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
• Prepare test specimens/substrates for processing.
• Create purchase orders for external testing requirements.
• Create job documents for processing of test specimens/substrates.
• Evaluation and entry of results of testing into company records.
• General housekeeping of lab and lab office
• Maintain chemical shelf life and chemical inventory logs.
• Additional duties may be added with training and experience.

Supervision

• Performs routine duties with minimal supervision
• Follow standard practices or procedures for routine work

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Relevant education or job experience in a lab setting preferred.
• Aerospace experience in processes and procedures, a plus
• Familiarity with AS9100 processes and procedures as it relates to job, a plus
• Familiarity with NADCAP AC/7108, Chemical Processing, a plus
• English language proficiency required
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data, drawings and blueprints
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math concepts: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Physical Requirements

• Close vision, Color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Employee will frequently be required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle parts
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently in close proximity to chemicals and exposed to fumes.
• Some aspects of job are to be performed in non-climate-controlled areas of facility.
• May be required to lift 25 to 75 lbs.

Continuous training requirements

• Annual review of customer related specifications or training on any new processes implemented at PPC.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
