The City of Surprise is searching for a highly motivated individual to be a part of the City’s library system. We are looking for an individual who thinks creatively, provides exceptional customer service, and aims to foster community relationships.

S UMMARY
Incumbents are responsible for shelving library materials, emptying the book returns, maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable area for the patrons, shelf reading for misplaced items, pulling holds requests for patrons, curbside delivery and assisting patrons by helping them find library materials, use the self-check-out machines or issuing a new library card.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work. Must be at least 16 years of age.

SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:

The City of Surprise offers Arizona State Retirement Savings (ASRS) for part time employees working 20-31 hours per week for 20 weeks or more, per fiscal year.
