Description

Performs tasks not limited to;

  • Changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, installing paper dispenser units, changing filters, changing locks on doors, minor decorative maintenance and other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person or journeyman.
  • Performs light maintenance service under the guidance of a qualified skilled tradesperson, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs and installations.
  • Identifies and corrects unsafe working conditions with management oversight; remains knowledgeable in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work; inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building code(s).
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures which includes reporting all accidents and injuries in a timely manner and performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments and/or all training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Assists skilled trade workers in one or more areas performing specific or standard duties to learn new skills as required for advancement and certification.
  • May be required to inventory equipment, parts and supplies.
  • Initiates/documents all work in CMMS system; work orders are both reactive and preventative.
  • Maintains grounds for hospital employees and visitors safety.
  • Ensures work is performed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Shift times may vary based on hospital demands and emergencies.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Equivalent / GED, Vocational Technical Training preferred

Certifications:

Certifications are encouraged but not required.

Experience & Knowledge

Minimum 1 year of experience doing generalist work, preferably in a healthcare setting, required.

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Must be detailed-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability

Notable client service, communication, and relationship building skills required

Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required.

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to use PCs, email and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy, machine, FAX machine, etc) required

Shift: 7p-7:30 am Saturday and Sunday
