Part-time Medical Biller - On Site Position

This position is for a Medical Biller position at Avanta Clinic LLC, Internal Medicine + Primary Care in Glastonbury, CT.

Avanta Clinic also provides infrastructure to Avanta Aesthetics LLC and this position will provide services to Avanta Aesthetics.

(This is an on-site position only. Applicants wishing to work remote will NOT be considered.)

About Avanta Clinic LLC:

We are a small, independent, family owned Primary Care & Aesthetics practice with husband & wife providers who are also the owners. We all work as a team to run the practice and take care of people.

Jobs that need to be performed include:

• Verify provider documentation and make sure that outgoing codes are accurate
• Use EMR/PM system to send bills to insurance companies
• Work with EMR and insurance companies to resolve billing issues
• Verify payments have been posted correctly
• Identify payment deviations from contracted rates and work with insurance companies to correct them
• Resolve disputes with insurance companies and other involved parties
• Perform prior authorization and insurance referrals
• Helping other office staff with day to day work
• Other task as required to keep the practice running smoothly

Avanta Aesthetics Tasks:

• Explain aesthetic services and pricing to patients
• Collect/manage payments for aesthetic services
• Assist with aesthetic treatments as needed (training will be provided by office)
• Follow up on Aesthetic leads via phone, email and text messages to schedule consultation and treatments

Please Note: All our staff if cross trained to perform all day to day functions. This position will be expected to work as a front desk receptionist, medical assistant (both medical and aesthetic) to help other office staff and if other staff is on PTO.

Skills Needed:

• Computer and EMR literacy (preferably Athena Health EMR)
• Good interpersonal skills and phone etiquette is a necessity
• Able to communicate professionally in writing (e.g. replying to patient portal messages)
• Understand basics of insurance, billing, claims generation and how practices get reimbursed for services
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Ability to organize and multi-task effectively
• Willing and eager to learn and use new skills

Experience:

• Minimum 5 year experience preferred
• Certified Professional Billing Coder Prefered

Benefits:

• Part Time Position: 24 - 28 hours per week (current needs require person to stay till 6pm on Wednesday)
• Salary: $20 to $25 per hour based on experience
• Eligible for Bonus Pay for following up and scheduling Aesthetic treatments
• PTO time off on a prorated basis

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
