- Collect key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed in order to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis.
- Educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, may include informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions.
- Ensure patient is properly dressed and screened before entering MRI safety zone 3. Adhere to MRI safety zones (1-4) per policy.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of MRI patient screening questionnaire.
- Assist provider in performing invasive procedures.
- Research and document patients’ medical history to assure that the patient is safe to be in the MRI environment.
- Ensure the proper exam is being administered to the patient. Ensure proper patient positioning, coil selection and coil positioning. Consult Radiologist as needed.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of all supplies as required.
- Perform daily equipment inspections. Participate in call rotation as needed.
- Performs the most advanced tasks with little to no supervision.
- May be responsible for American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI testing/accreditation requirements, site specific.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 2 years' experience.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
- OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification.
