Surfpoint Recovery is a first-class treatment center offering top level medical care and evidence based clinical care for individuals suffering from substance use disorder.

Surfpoint Recovery is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to provide
comprehensive evaluation and to treat adult substance abusing population,
mentally ill chemical abusers, and mentally ill patients. To assess prospective
patients for admission to detoxify and to rehabilitate to the facility for
appropriate level of care. Address any immediate ongoing health issues that can
be assisted at the outpatient, residential, rehabilitation, or detox level of
care.

Task AND Responsibilities:

Conduct evaluation with relevant history, health
assessment based on the patient’s signs & symptoms.

Identify needs of the patient and make a
differential diagnosis based on the clinical presentation, history, and
clinical findings.

Conduct waived testing for urine.

Develop a prioritized and mutually acceptable plan of care according to the written practice protocols in collaboration with
the physician.

Implement a treatment plan that is prioritized and mutually acceptable with appropriate diagnostic tests, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, patient education, and with appropriate referrals as needed.

Provide systematic follow-up by evaluating the effectiveness of various treatments provided, therapeutic processes used, their outcome and modifying treatments & management plans as necessary to achieve the optimum mental health goals.

Provide educational materials & information needed to make well informed choices and decisions by patients about their health promotion, illness prevention and finally, illness treatment. Facilitate the patient’s entry into mental
health care system with appropriate utilization of quality and cost-effective health care services. Provide a safe environment for the patient, and promote patient advocacy at the individual, community, and global levels. Participate with other professional colleagues to provide comprehensive mental health care. Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Current/valid New York State Physician Assistant (PA) license
Currently registered as a registered professional Physician Assistant in good standing
Certified as a Physician Assistant
DEA license
Hold all requirements indicated by the NY
Department of Drug and Alcohol Program to perform history and physicals and
prescribe medications.
Current basic life support for health providers (BLS)

Five (5) years of related work experience

SKILLS:
Computer skills
Strong written and interpersonal
communications skills
Knowledge of computer-based data management
programs and information systems, as well as medical records and
point-of-interview technology
Attention to detail
Decision-making and problem-solving skills

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
