About Catalina Island:
Hunter Ambrose is proud to partner with Catalina Island Medical Center in Avalon, California, located on beautiful Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles. The community has just under 3,500 residents and is accessible by ferry from Long Beach, San Pedro, and Dona Point, California. Car use is limited on the island as it is a tourist-focused community where residents and visitors walk, ride bikes or use a golf cart for transportation. The median rent for an apartment on Catalina Island is around $1,900/month.
About CIMC- Catalina Island Medical Center-
Catalina Island Medical Center (CIMC) is a critical access hospital and the only hospital on the island; serving all of its residents and tourists. They are proud to be one of the largest employers on the island, providing over 100 jobs. While "rural", the hospital is equipped with an Emergency Room, outpatient services and Long Term Care facility (currently with 5 patients).
About the position:
This is a full-time position offering Monday-Friday candidates, on-island paid housing. The position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. Candidates preferring a hybrid schedule may opt to be on the island 3 days per week with paid temporary housing and work remotely 1-2 days per week. A 4-day work week, (with 2 working days on island) may be considered.
This position promotes professional reliability in clinical performance and patient safety through assessment, facilitation, and prioritization of responsibilities. This position has oversight and direction of the infection prevention program for all departments throughout the facility and ambulatory setting, including surveillance, infection prevention, control measures, and education for employees. The position works to improve quality, infection prevention, patient safety, and outcomes of clinical care. This is an interim position with the possibility of becoming a permanent position after 12 weeks.
Candidate requirements:
- BSN required, MSN preferred
- Current California RN license
- CPHQ, CIC, or CPPS preferred
- 10+ years of RN experience including acute care, management, quality and or infection control
- 2+ years of Quality, Infection Control, and or Risk Management experience required
- Strong experience in problem analysis, project management, conflict resolution, and providing oral and written presentations
- Experience managing multiple projects using Google docs, Slack, and or creating dashboards; ensuring a transparent and "real-time" display of work product, projects, and achievements
Compensation:
- Exempt position with a salary range of $95,000 - $125,000
- Furnished housing, (best suited for the candidate and 1 family member, no pets) is provided
- This includes rent, utilities, and wi-fi
- Ferry tickets will be provided allowing for 1 roundtrip ticket per week
