We have an exciting opportunity, to have a Sales/Business Development Coordinator to join the team! This role will work directly with our Chief Executive Officer. The Sales/Business Development Coordinator is to provide proactive support for the success of NELSON identifying new Business Development through research, information maintenance, mailings and data tracking.

Primary responsibility for this position is Sales/ Business Development. These duties may not preclude performance of other jobs that may be assigned. Responsibilities will vary with the demands of the Practice, Region and projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on target companies and key people
  • Mine for other opportunities as appropriate
  • Set up Word files on researched companies including background information, key people, selected bios, relevant articles and available trends information
  • Maintain a 12-month calendar of planned mailings and conferences
  • Partner with Marketing to support “campaigns” set-up in CRM
  • Coordinate the mailings / e-mailings
  • Print letters and assemble packages of custom printed or electronic materials for mailings
  • Assist in sending out post call correspondence and credentials information
  • Maintain spreadsheet on mailings to track post mailing action and results
  • Coordinate any sales support needed by CEO.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in client tracking software and social media outlets.
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization techniques.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, with prompt arrival and dependable attendance at work.
  • Must be highly resourceful and well organized.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan a myriad of activities, with high energy level.
  • Must be prompt and responsible when dealing with client calls.
  • Ability to problem solve, make suggestions, use sound judgment and think on feet.
  • Ability to follow through on work assignments.
  • Must be exceptionally flexible and oriented toward innovation and change.
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant and cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the performance of duties, to include all employees, vendors, and clients.
  • Must maintain professional appearance with grooming and dress consistent with desired Firm image.

Education and Experience

  • 4-year Degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2- 5 years administrative or related experience in a fast-paced business environment – recent college graduate considered
  • Experience in a Sales or Marketing Department preferred
  • Experience within Industry is preferred
