DIETRICH is hiring Part Time couriers at our Sandusky location, first shift, available 7 days a week.

Our couriers are responsible for performing the daily pick-up and delivery of various items with an emphasis on safety and customer service.

Overview:

This work involves the transportation of valuables from one location to another. Given the sensitive nature of the commodities transported, this work requires a keen attention to detail, an ability to organize and complete forms and log sheets to account for the commodities at every point in transit. Also, given the inherent susceptibility to criminal attack, it is necessary to be intimately aware of the surrounding environment and progress very carefully throughout the typical workday. Finally, the work also involves the “behind-the-scenes” operation of financial institutions from ATM support to transporting sensitive documents to be destroyed.

Essential Duties:

• Safely transport deposits, interoffice mail, and related material
• Complete logs to accurately track items through the transportation cycle
• Strictly observe operating policies, procedures, and service schedules
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction
• Conduct pre/post trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients
• All other job-related duties as assigned
• Work to promote DIETRICH team culture

Examples of Work:

• Operates a company vehicle as it completes multiple pick-ups and drop-offs during a workday, entailing long periods inside the vehicle.
• Serves as the actual courier, primarily responsible for the pick-up and drop-off of commodities from one location to another.
• Collects and transports various documents from financial institutions to secure locations where the documents can be destroyed, both during and after work hours.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Relevant industry/driving experience preferred

Skill and Competency Requirements:

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving history (6pts. or less)
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely
• Ability to pass initial and random background check
• Frequent standing, walking
• Extended periods of sitting, ability to bend, twist, squat, climbing in and out of vehicles
• Must be able lift and maneuver minimum of 50 lbs.
• Drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions

Special Requirements:

• Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
• Applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America and able to obtain a Firearm Bearer Certificate (FAB) through the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
• Company sponsored firearm training and certification, if applicable.
• Willing to drive company vehicle within a 75 mile radius. shifts available.
