Overview
About the Job
- Play key role in planning and execution of account activities including media relations, events, partnerships, influencer management, and FAM trips for leisure and MICE segments
- Serve as day-to-day client contact across multiple workstreams; continually foster client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource to the client
- Assist senior team members with operational needs such as activity report development, budget status report (BSR) tracking, media monitoring and results tracking and reporting
- Continually build understanding and knowledge of clients' business and competitive landscape; apply this information in your day-to-day work and in preparing and presenting strategic recommendations and programs
- Act with flexibility and facilitate teamwork within account team; coordinate team resources and create opportunities for entry level staff; fully utilize and integrate agency resources to create best-in-class results for clients
- Mentor entry level team members and lead by example with professional maturity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree, a plus
- 3-5 years of agency and/or in-house public relations experience with specific focus on travel and tourism
- Demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of written materials including client correspondence, press releases, media pitches, status reports, media lists, proposal/plans, presentations, etc.
- Experience, ability and willingness to work at a fast-paced agency and juggle multiple internal and client projects at once
- Willingness to travel and staff media/influencer press trips in San Juan, and evening and weekend events from time-to-time in San Juan or in the Continental US
- Experience working in interagency teams with multiple marketing partners and so the vendors
- Demonstrated track record in building client relationships and delivering programs that exceeded anticipated results
- Ability to spot relevant trends and insights and share with team in order to mobilize, develop, and motivate
- Demonstrated self-starter, resourceful and decisive mindset yet know when to approach senior staff when needed
- Ability to think about the bigger picture, a step ahead, what more can Ketchum offer, and practice good judgement
- Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal)
- Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
