POSITION SUMMARY:
Duties of a Senior Accountant include but not limited to handling full AR cycle, maintaining various general ledger accounts, preparing reconciliation schedules, performing month-end closing procedures, and various account analysis. This position requires a high degree of attention to details, superb communication and teamwork skills to interact and coordinate various projects and tasks with various levels within accounting, operations and sales departments. The Senior Accountant plays an important role in identifying inefficiencies at various levels and bringing them to the attention of the management with potential solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITITES include, but are not limited to, the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
Specific Duties:
- Take on full charge of AR cycle such as creating detailed and customer specific invoices, managing customer relations, follow up on past due invoices and collections
- Lead the end-to-end process for contract to billing to accounting close for our services contract & order based revenue business;
- Develop a strong understanding of our services to ensure invoicing and revenue recognition accuracy;
- Assist in the ongoing automation and evaluation of systems, processes and controls;
- Prepare revenue/deferred revenue journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with ASC 606;
- Prepare flux analyses and other analytics to help review the monthly results. Handling deferred revenue and customer deposits including monthly amortization of the deferred revenue and account reconciliation.
- Assists in the month-end close (prepare JE’s, complex reconciliations, analysis of assigned accounts, and various post close analysis/reports) as well as preparation of monthly financial statements package
- Prepare multi-state sales tax return, bank reconciliations & maintain fixed assets schedule.
- Assists with annual audits and income tax preparation
EXPERIENCE:
- 4 - 6 years of work experience in industries related to service which must include AR cycle
- Public Accounting experience is a plus but not required
SKILLS:
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise edition is required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Strict attention to details and follows up
- Experience with Salesforce, ServiceMax and Concur a plus but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
