Job description
The Senior Human Resource Generalist will coordinate and provide functional support for multiple areas of Human Resources in the Hazel Park, MI location, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, HR compliance, employee relations, on-boarding, training, performance management, HRIS maintenance, and employee engagement. They will facilitate a collaborative environment and implements appropriate change management initiatives and provide customer service to support the business through the consistent application of HR policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach
  • Participate in company-wide programs and initiatives including but not limited to salary review, workforce planning, organizational change, on-boarding, job analysis, new hire and exit processes, selection, performance, diversity, and leadership initiatives
  • Manage the relationship with temporary contract agencies and manages temporary /contract employee on-boarding process
  • Prepare job descriptions, and engages in recruitment related activities including: reviewing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting orientations, and coordinating any temporary staffing needs
  • Recommend employee relations practices vital to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
  • Help implement innovative approaches, corrective actions, and updates to policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • HRIS input and reporting monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc metrics and reports
  • Assist with internal training programs and evaluate efficiency
  • Participate in employee activities, sponsored events, and special group projects as required
  • Establishment, optimization and further development of HR processes
  • Contact person for management as well as salaried and hourly employees on all personnel related issues
