Summary

The Industrial Electronic Technician is responsible for evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing and testing all units placed in their name. All repairs must take place in a timely manner in order to best serve the customer. Industrial Electronic Technicians must test units, compare schematics, troubleshoot and research each unit in order to diagnose and properly fix the issue.

Essential Functions

· Evaluating and troubleshooting industrial electronics

· Finding and utilizing schematics and wiring diagrams

· Following safety protocol at all times, especially when using low/high voltage

· Washing and drying industrial electronic equipment

· Responsible for utilizing the database to make progress notes and place parts orders

· Properly installing parts in a timely manner once they’ve been ordered and have arrived

· Load testing each unit to the best of your ability before shipping a unit out

Competencies

· Deductive Reasoning: Look for problems and solve them.

· Logic: Should be able to compare a unit with schematics and wiring diagrams, scan them for issues, making sure that they work before shipped out to the customer.

· Manual Dexterity: Working with hand tools and handling small components.

· Math: Math is needed to analyze and create schematics.

· Problem-Solving: Must be able to identify issues and make corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components.

· Quick decision making with the company and customers in mind

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in our repair center with exposure to computer screens and require regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, soldering equipment and low/high voltage electricity. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break.

Travel

Some travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

Successful candidates will have a degree in Industrial Electronic Repair or Electrical Engineering OR a minimum of 10 years previous experience in the field

Must be able to comprehend and create technical documentation, communicate effectively in a variety of situations, receive feedback and follow instructions in a team environment.

Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office programs is required.
