Job description
Pay Range: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 a year.
By adhering to Connecticut State Law, pay ranges are posted. The pay rate will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge of position and comparison to others who are already in this role within the company.

Summary
The Computer Technician installs and configures computer workstations and local area networks, operates them, monitors their performances, diagnoses and solves their problems.
Essential Functions
- Install and configure local area data communications networks which may carry data, voice and video communications following organization standards.
- Serve as a Technical Lead and mentor to Desktop Support Specialists
- Install, operate and maintain network services including but not limited to routers, switches, modems and other network devices following technical plans.
- Install or repair Windows computers with standardized applications and networking software, diagnosing and solving problems that develop in their operations.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain all end user computing technologies including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, printers, LAN, phones, conference devices, mobile devices and related Operating Systems and software
- Respond to user questions and explain the operation of network applications and equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance of standards and documentation.
- Assist all users with any logged IT related incidents when called upon.
- Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.
- Maintain first class level of customer service ensuring all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- An independent thinker, with good judgment, common sense and logical problem-solving capabilities
- Must have car and willing to travel to our locations.
Skills and Knowledge
- 5+ years’ experience supporting users to include but not limited to desktops, laptops, printers, phones
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience administratively supporting Microsoft Windows (Desktop and Server)
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Visio, Excel, and etc.)
- Experience with virtual computing environment (VMware)
- Experience with Cisco or Fortigate
- Experience with MS Exchange Server
- Experience with network technology (AP, VLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and etc.)
- Experience with VOIP technology
- Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
- 5+ years’ experience supporting electronic user devices to include but not limited to desktops, laptops, printers, VOIP phones
Education and Experience
- High school or GED
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Service Desk or Desktop support environment
