Job Background:

D&D Mulch and Landscape, a local company selling exterior yard products (loam, mulch, decorative stone) and construction aggregates (gravel, sand, fill, stone), is expanding its operation and looking for an experienced person to add to their growing team.

This seasonal on-call position has been created to plow and/or remove snow from large commercial properties located in the towns of Natick, MA, Framingham, MA, Hopkinton, MA, and Milford, MA. The snow removal operator is responsible for reporting to the President, Vice President, and Operations Manager in a safe and efficient manner.

This position requires the successful applicant to work on an on-call basis with irregular hours between mid-November and the end of March. Applicants must be available and committed to work with very short notice at all times of the day and night using a variety of snow removal equipment listed below.

This is a new position with a lot of growth potential for the right person. Our company has many long-term employees who have developed personally and professionally with our company over the last 25 years.

Job Responsibilities:

A Snow Removal Operator is expected to:

  • Understand concepts of winter maintenance, such as snow clearing, ice blading, clearing parking lots, trucking away excess snow, and creating a salt/sand mix
  • Document the usage of materials
  • Operate their equipment in all conditions, especially heavy snowfall
  • Work in a healthy and safe manner and follow all company safety guidelines
  • Keep a clean machine, both inside and out (This may include washing the interior and/or exterior at the conclusion of each storm.)
  • Perform routine inspections to insure safety and reliability of machine, including pre-storm and post-storm inspections while reporting repairs as needed
  • Take constructive feedback from supervisor(s)
  • Proactively respond in looking for potential hazards, problems and overall safety
  • Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work both independently and part of a team
  • Have exceptional attendance and reliability

Snow Plowing and Removal Equipment:

  • Cat Skid-Steer operators
  • Cat Loader Operators (906, 914, IT 14G, 924, 926, 928, 930)

Requirements:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Current Class D driver’s license in good standing (if driving Non-CDL equipment)
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining required DOT medical card

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $33.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • On call

COVID-19 considerations:
Operators are assigned to a single machine all winter, so you will be the only one in your machine.
