Rum Bay Restaurant at Palm Island Resort an upscale Comfort-Casual Restaurant, located off Cape Haze, Florida on Palm Island.

We are is seeking an energetic and experienced Sous Chef, to assist in the overall kitchen operations. Full-Time, Salary, Management Position. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision and paid Vacations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, strong work ethic, results oriented person
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to train, educate and motivate staff to perform to the standards set by the executive chef.
  • Responsible for the food production and Kitchen service of the Restaurant.
  • Plays an integral role in managing the food production operations while ensuring the guest experience.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining focused on the overall guest satisfaction.
  • Must be aligned with the culinary vision and philosophy of the executive chef.
  • Works to achieve high levels of personal and organizational performance.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to, communicate with and motivate employees to sustained high performance and quality levels
  • Supervise and participate in the production, preparation and presentation to ensure consistent high-quality food, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Understands food safety, sanitation and food handling procedures

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Minimum of 2 years Sous Chef experience in a full service, high-volume, restaurant along with advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession.
  • Culinary degree or apprenticeship a plus.
  • Prior Fine dining experience and Banquet prep experience for a coming soon new concept also a plus.

Responsible for providing a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive quality products
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, work well under pressure, and meet multiple & sometimes competing deadlines. Coordinates inventory, purchasing, pricing and distribution of supplies with other Chefs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
