Brief Summary of Job Description
The Student Success Coordinator works to set students on successful pathways and help in finding a supportive community at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. This position is a one-year contracted appointment with potential for extended employment.The coordinator provides guidance, advising and counseling to primarily first-year At-Promise focused on their university goals by utilizing campus resources. Coordinates efforts to support students on academic probation. Makes referrals and appropriate follow-up to benefit At-Promise students to campus and community resources. Supports/guides the use of a CRM student retention platform, coordinating input, generating reports, tracking progress, and recommending updates.

Job Duties
Supports data-driven processes to identify and assist students considered At-Promise, developing programs and initiatives that will increase the likelihood of their success. Implement individualized and mass outreach, promotion, and recruitment strategies to ensure participation. Works with students individually to address their needs for achieving college completion. Refers students to appropriate campus resources.
Works with faculty staff, develops programs to identify, intervene and assist students experiencing academic challenges to help establish and carry out academic recovery plans. Coordinating with the Learning Commons and Learning Strategies Office, particularly Success Coaches, to ensure students receive robust academic support by a success team.
Assists coordinating and planning orientation activities for students identified as At-Promise, including a summer bridge program.
Ability to execute a vision and mission for student success within a comprehensive plan that addresses students’ changing needs in belonging, wellbeing and academic success supports. Demonstrable skills in education and professional development, programming and retention strategies. Must demonstrate ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse populations and support the university’s commitment to be a model for student success within an environment of equity and inclusion. Experience in managing and leading a team in a collaborative environment toward common goals, identifying key performance indicators and evaluation methods. Ability to understand the CRM environment and data. Ability to communicate effectively, and with empathy, among all constituents including directors, staff, faculty, and students. Ability to solve problems and adjust approaches quickly based on changing environment and student needs. Keen budget sense with ability to maximize all resources to greatest value. Must understand and be able to execute assessment plans.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred. Excellent information-technology ability; experience with a CRM or database preferred. Experience advising students and/or working in the higher education environment. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills . Effective time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics and pressures of college students and a strong interest in actively engaging to support student success and satisfaction.
