The Finance Y-14 Regulatory Reporting Investigative Analyst is senior professional position responsible for centrally monitoring and assessing issues that impact FR Y-14 (CCAR) Actuals reporting. The role involves a significant amount of interaction within Risk, Finance, FRSS, Technology, Data, Businesses and other key partners and provides a unique perspective on data management and regulatory reporting issues at Citi. The role involves understanding issues, quantitatively and qualitatively assessing their impact to the FR Y-14 reporting, assessing and challenging the completeness and timeliness of action plans, escalating issues for prioritized resolution and monitoring issues to closure. The assessment of issues also includes engaging with other reporting teams to understand cross report impact, assessment of applicable compensating controls and assessment of issues for potential restatement as required.

This role is part of the Global Regulatory Reporting Controllers function which has oversight and ownership of the FR Y-14 Actuals Reporting, including support of the CFO Attestation process. The issues management process within this function serves as a mechanism to quantify the impact of known issues on the completeness and accuracy of the reporting and is a critical component of the CFO Attestation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigating and assessing issues raised by regulators on items reported in Y-14 schedules related to actuals
  • Investigating and assessing issues affecting Y-14 schedules raised through other channels (such as IMRs, data tracing exercises, conformance reviews, etc.)
  • Providing an assessment to the Head of Y-14 Issues Management and seniors on the data quality of actuals information and the risk severity of Y-14 schedules impact
  • Assessing the effectiveness of known compensating controls and assessing issues for possible restatement
  • Maintaining a log of the issues and assessments (including remediation programs and compensating controls) for issues identified
  • Assist in the development of process efficiencies, improvement efforts and procedures, as well as data quality improvement projects
  • Work with senior leadership on strategic planning, establishing guidelines, implementing controls, and executing strategic plans
  • Build and maintain a thorough understanding of related product reporting and analytics and utilize knowledge of systems and process flows to provide insight and recommendations on identified issues
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services with experience in FR Y-14 Regulatory Reporting preferred
  • Proven track record analyzing complex financial reporting items in a high profile environment
  • Experience with regulatory, finance and/or risk management reporting (such as Market Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, and/or Financial Planning & Analysis)
  • Familiarity with Risk and Finance reporting data infrastructures and platforms across multiple products, functions, and/or businesses preferred.
  • Previous management experience
  • Working knowledge of related industry practices and standards
  • Ability to work with multiple functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree/University degree with a major in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
