Qualifications:
- Ability to manufacture and repair injection molds.
- Provide input into the design and creation of molds and fixtures.
- Manufactured jigs, fixtures, and robot tooling, and repaired parts as needed.
- Thorough knowledge of cutting tools, work holding, and materials.
- Expertise with manual machining processes including VMC, lathes, surface grinders, saws, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
- CNC knowledge, run/setup, and programming.
- Create tooling to support R&D projects.
- Time management abilities to ensure tooling is available when needed.
- Broad understanding of the specific demands and requirements of injection mold tooling including mold material selection, structural support for clamping and injection hydraulic forces, lubrication and actuation of mold components, venting, vacuum channels, mold heating and cooling, part ejection, and surface finish.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Clean and perform mold and tooling preventative maintenance.
- Prototype fixtures, robot end-of-arm tooling.
- Tig welding is a plus.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in the injection mold industry preferred.
