Brown & Brown’s Risk Solutions, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Vice President of Business Development to join the National Healthcare Practice remotely.
The Vice President will use critical and creative thinking to develop and deliver applicable Pharmacy & Medical Management solutions to prospective and existing healthcare, benefits and risk management clients. Leads are generated through the development of existing clients, professional relationships, cold calling, industry involvement, and internal referrals from other Brown & Brown entities.
- Develop new relationships with individuals responsible for pharmacy and medical management and risk management decisions at prospective clients, including health plans, carriers, large employers, Taft Hartley plans, FEHB plans.
- Identify new and develop existing Vendor Partners with solutions that address cost & quality in pharmacy and medical benefit
- Drive new sales and upsells to achieve targeted growth objectives through
- Managing strong and active new business pipeline
- Designing individual prospect sales strategies and developing unique prospect programs
- Identifying prospects for business opportunities through various direct and indirect sources
- Developing knowledge and working understanding of Risk Solutions and broader Brown & Brown capabilities.
- Cross-selling opportunities within broader Brown & Brown organization by leveraging internal relationships
- Participating in targeted industry and professional associations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree and five years of commercial insurance and/or benefits experience
- Extensive knowledge, experience, and understanding of business development life cycle of healthcare and benefits
- Demonstrated ability to sell complex services to sophisticated C-suite level buyers.
- Proven track record of sales and achieving targeted growth goals in health care industry
- Knowledge of the pharmacy benefit management space
- Comprehensive working knowledge of principles and methods of selling products; services and value propositions; sales marketing strategies and tactics; technical knowledge of insurance and risk management products, services, and value propositions; pipeline management; and cross-selling
- Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment where initiative and self-motivation are required
- Excellent communication (written, verbal and oral) skills and interpersonal skills essential
