Warehouse Worker/Forklift Operator

Established in 1991, Farm Share is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to the recovery, sorting, packing and distribution of nutritious foods for people in need. Farm Share administers a combination of USDA commodity programs and produce recovery operations from a packinghouse located in Homestead, Florida - the heart of Miami-Dade County's farming area.

Position

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse position has a variety of responsibilities and assists in maintain Farm Share’s compliance with State and Federal distribution regulations. The warehouse position’s main objective is to adhere to all policies and procedures for the organization, accurate stocking of product, loading of trucks, proper rotation of food stuffs and general warehouse condition. The Warehouse position performs the following functions:

General description:

· Participates in maintenance of equipment & facilities.

· Maintains proper rotation in coolers & warehouse.

· Reports questionable product quality to Supervisor.

· Loads/unloads trucks in safe & timely manner.

· Maintains the warehouse in a clean & safe manner.

· Strictly adheres to food safety policies & procedures.

Requirements:

· Forklift Certification.

· Able to lift up to 25 lbs. to shoulder height.

· Ability to take direction & work as part of a team.

· Minimum 18 yrs of age with HS diploma or GED.

· Shift flexibility – able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Employment offer may be contingent upon completion of an interview, fitness evaluation, physical, drug screen, and/or background investigation.

Examples of Duties:

· Check freezer, dry-storage, and cooler temperatures daily

· Supervise pre-packing of commodities

· Set up commodities for distribution

· Distribute commodities to agencies

· Restock food bins as necessary

· Fork Lift Driver

· Receive, deliver, and load commodities

· Keep Warehouse clean & in order

· Monitor Produce & Commodities distribution

· Monitor Parking

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Forklift: 2 years (Required)
• Warehouse Experience: 2 years (Required)
