Job description
Under general supervision, is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the water plant to include pumps, electrical controls, SCADA, filters, chemical feeders, pump stations and all plant equipment. Reports to the Water Plant Manager.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the primary inspection, maintenance, and repair of the water plant and pump stations.
Conducts routine inspections of the pump station and elevated tank controls to ensure proper operation.
Checks the pump operations at the water plant.
Inspects all valves at the water plant.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with some technical training in mechanical repair and a minimum two years’ experience in a general mechanics capacity. Requires S.C. driver’s license and the ability to pass the Class “C” water treatment operator certification exam within two years.
