One of southern New Mexico’s premier medical centers is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to work with their advanced Wound Care clinical team. The APRN will enjoy the collaborative work environment at this acute care hospital as they work with inpatient acute wound care. The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner will work with the inpatient surgery teams and various hospital units to ensure patients with chronic or acute wounds are cared for accordingly. Moreover, the Wound Care NP will be part of a comprehensive patient care team that organizes wound treatment services as patients transition from inpatient care to outpatient wound care.

This nearly 300 bed medical center is a teaching hospital and stays on the forefront of medical technologies. The Wound Care department is supported with multiple hyperbaric chambers to support healing. Moreover, the Advanced Practice Wound Care Practitioner will enjoy the variety of patients that they care for as they aim to provide area leading wound care and limb perseveration services. The Wound Care NP may care for patients with wounds stemming from:

• Ulcers (Pressure, Diabetic, Venous, and Arterial)
• Non healing surgical wounds
• Post-operative infections
• Burns
• Soft tissue and osteoradionecrosis
• Preservation of compromised skin grafts and flaps
• Traumatic wounds
• Post-radiation tissue injury
• Gangrene
• Necrotizing soft tissue infections
• Acute traumatic peripheral ischemia
• Bone infections
• Cancer
